David Albertsen’s Prismacolor works on paper immerse the viewer in a cosmic field of psychedelic colors and intricate geometries. In his lyrical, abstract compositions the world around us is transfigured as animals, plants and organic forms grow into whimsical shapes and patterns. Evocative of Navajo sand paintings and folk art traditions, Albertsen’s abstractions radiate as innate geometries and totemic forms balance in a fixed orbit. From these fantastical drawings, a bright world emerges.
Albertsen’s work has been exhibited at the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art in Korea, the Galerie Giti Nourbakhsch in Berlin, and has been featured at numerous Outsider Art Fairs and New Art Dealers Alliance Fairs.
