Et al. is thrilled to present a solo exhibition of Aurie Ramirez, marking the second collaboration with the artist and first dedicated solo show of her work. Previously featured in a group exhibition with Et al. in Mexico City, Ramirez’s intricate and vividly detailed compositions now take center stage, inviting viewers into a world where fashion, music, and identity blur in dreamlike intensity.
A longtime studio artist at Creative Growth, Ramirez’s work is a study in obsession and transformation. Their delicate yet bold watercolor and ink pieces create a universe where 18th-century dandyism meets glam rock excess, and where childhood memories of Filipino traditions collide with the theatricality of KISS-inspired aesthetics. Whether depicting anthropomorphic food, punk fetishism, or meticulously arranged figures in elaborate attire, Ramirez’s work is an ongoing exploration of sexuality, fashion, and cultural hybridity.
Throughout her career, Ramirez has developed an almost encyclopedic practice, producing dozens of intricate compositions in a single day—a testament to both their creative urgency and their unique approach to storytelling through repetition and variation. Her work has been exhibited in major galleries and institutions worldwide, including White Columns, Gavin Brown’s enterprise, Jack Hanley Gallery, ABCD Paris, Collection de l’Art Brut in Switzerland, and MADmusée in Belgium.
We are honored to showcase Ramirez’s visionary work in this solo presentation, reaffirming our commitment to artists who challenge and expand the boundaries of contemporary art.
Join us as we celebrate Aurie Ramirez’s singular world—where glam, fantasy, and deeply personal narratives converge in kaleidoscopic brilliance.
