As part of Oakland Style Week, Creative Growth Art Center invites you join a behind-the-scenes look at our celebrated Fashion Program. Creative Growth Art Center is an art studio and gallery championing artists with disabilities in the East Bay and our artists develop couture garments within the studio. Our courture clothes have been featured in Harpers Bazzar, WWD, Vogue, PAPER Magazine and more.
During this open studio experience, artist Theresa Lambert will share how the studio has supported her creative practice in fashion. In addition, our facilitator, Amy Keefer will take you on a guided walkthrough of our textile and garment space. You’ll get an up-close look at the tools, techniques, and collaborative processes that transform unexpected materials into wearable art. Whether you are a passionate fashion designer, an art collector, or a champion of local Oakland culture, this tour offers a rare glimpse into the craft that defines Creative Growth's "Beyond Trend" Fashion Program.
What to Expect:
- Artist-Led Walkthroughs: Hear directly from Creative Growth artist Theresa Lambert about her personal style, creative inspirations, and design techniques.
- Studio Tour: Explore our different equipment stations, from weaving and embroidery setups to custom garment dying setups.
Artist Demonstration: Theresa will demonstrate how individual concepts evolve into runway-ready garments and fiber art sculptures. - Community & Culture: Connect with fellow fashion enthusiasts and art patrons celebrating the vibrant intersection of Oakland's style scene and inclusive arts.

Oakland's rising style stars runway show
Creative Growth is hitting the runway as part of Oakland Style Week 2026, joining a dynamic lineup of Oakland designers, students, artists, and creative organizations for An Evening with Oakland’s Rising Style Stars. Presented at The Atrium at Uptown Station, the collaborative fashion show brings together Oakland School for the Arts, Kingmakers of Oakland, Creative Growth, Oakland Style Lab, and White Elephant Sale for an evening celebrating the creativity, individuality, and unmistakable style of The Town.
