This exhibition brings together paintings by artist Latefa Noorzai. Born in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1960 she practiced at Creative Growth from 2012 - 2025 and passed away in 2025. Her bold portrait style is usually based on fashion magazines. A master of color, Noorzai paints figures that are, like herself, bright, mercurial, and undaunted by the gaze of others. In her later years working at Creative Growth Latefa’s practice began to grow more abstract, still retaining her strong mark-making and color choices.

In December 2021 Interview Magazine published a feature on Latefa’s paintings of the Spring Season 2022 Runway looks.

collectors preview event

Join us for a special collectors’ preview celebrating Latefa Noorzai and her remarkable body of work. The exhibition features the last three remaining large-scale paintings on paper, presented alongside a selection of her later work. Together, these pieces offer a unique opportunity to revisit a significant chapter of her artistic practice and discover how her work continued to evolve. We look forward to welcoming you for an intimate first look at this special presentation.
